Bio

With 20 years’ experience in genomics education in both Australia and the UK, Michelle leads the Learning and Training team within Wellcome Connecting Science. She oversees the strategic direction of the programme, has operational oversight of programme activities and leads the team in reaching their ambitious objectives. Her personal accomplishments include: authoring 50+ genomics education resources and overseeing the development of 100+ more; developing training curricula for genomic specialists; defining competency frameworks in genomics for different professions; teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses for healthcare and research professionals; authoring 20+ papers and two book chapters on genomics education; providing educational and clinical expertise to national and international genomic implementation projects. Michelle is a trained Genetic Counsellor and holds a PhD in Genetics Education.
