Dr Anna Köttgen is a genetic epidemiologist with a focus on renal and metabolic diseases. She earned her medical degree from the University of Freiburg and a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. As Director of the Institute of Genetic Epidemiology at the University Medical Centre Freiburg, Dr Köttgen leads transformative research, including her leadership of the International Chronic Kidney Disease Genetics (CKDGen) Consortium. Her work has earned prestigious awards such as the Franz Volhard Prize and the Cozzarelli Prize. Dr Köttgen actively contributes to advancing the field through her roles in academic societies and editorial boards, solidifying her influence on genetic research and epidemiology.
